I think you're generally correct but tucked in shirts very often look rather silly IMO, especially if you're not very slim. If wearing untucked, you jsut need to avoid dress shirts with the scooped tails. You can buy shirts designed to be untucked that have a straight hem and are shorter in the body.

I actually get tons of compliments with my Hawaiian shirts. I also pair them with Jordan’s because it’s really easy to.
